Vatdi vs Intercom
An enterprise support platform versus a store-focused AI agent. Different tools, very different bills.
Quick Verdict
Intercom is a full customer-service platform: shared inbox, help centre, product tours, outbound messaging, and its Fin AI agent, billed per seat (from $29 to $132 a seat a month) plus $0.99 for every conversation Fin resolves. Vatdi does one thing: an AI chat widget that answers shoppers from your product catalogue, pages and policies, tracks orders, and hands over to a human, for a flat $4.49 or $7.49 a month with unlimited seats. If you are a SaaS company that needs tickets, tours and email campaigns, Intercom is the right category. If you run an online store and your team is one to ten people, Intercom is a lot of software and a lot of invoice for the chat bubble you actually wanted.

What you are really comparing
This is not an apples-to-apples comparison and we will not pretend it is. Intercom is one of the best support platforms ever built for software companies. Vatdi is a chat widget for online stores. The question is whether your store needs the platform.
In our experience the answer is usually no. A store's support load is order status, shipping times, returns, sizing and "do you have X in stock". None of that needs product tours or a help centre with SSO. It needs an AI that knows your catalogue and policies and a way to reach a person when it does not.
The bill, side by side
As of September 2026, Intercom's plans are Essential ($29/seat/month), Advanced ($85/seat/month) and Expert ($132/seat/month), with Fin AI Agent charged at $0.99 per resolution on top, and Copilot for agents as another add-on. Three people on Advanced with Fin resolving 500 conversations a month is roughly $750 before annual discounts.
Vatdi's Grow plan is $7.49/month for unlimited AI replies and unlimited teammates. The same three people and 500 resolved conversations cost $7.49. Starter at $4.49 a month has a smaller monthly conversation cap if your volume is lower. We are not saying Intercom is overpriced for what it is; we are saying most stores do not need what it is.
Fin vs Vatdi on store questions
Fin is excellent at answering from a help centre and support content, and it can call external systems if you build the integrations. Out of the box it does not know your catalogue, stock or a customer's order.
Vatdi connects to WooCommerce, OpenCart, PrestaShop, Magento, nopCommerce or Shopware and syncs products (Shopify stores are learned from the storefront), pages and policies itself. Each answer is retrieved from your data first, so product questions come back with the real price, availability and link. Customers can check order status by giving an order number, and the AI can offer a coupon or point out your real best sellers when it makes sense. Every reply is scored for quality so you can see which questions it handles well and which need a better answer in your knowledge base.
Handover and the team inbox
Intercom's inbox is the gold standard: assignment rules, SLAs, macros, reporting, mobile apps. Vatdi's inbox is deliberately small. The AI works the chat; when it should not answer, it asks the visitor if they want a person, alerts your team with a sound and browser notification, and a teammate joins from the same widget the customer sees. When they finish, they hand the chat back to the AI. Missed handoffs are reported so you can fix coverage. If you need routing, SLAs and macros, Intercom wins this section clearly.
What Vatdi costs, exactly
Vatdi has three plans and no per-seat pricing, so adding a teammate never changes your bill. Every plan has every feature; they differ by monthly volume, and only paid plans can remove the badge.
- Free — $0. One store, 15 conversations a month, 100 knowledge items and 200 synced products. Every feature is included — order tracking, human handover, the team inbox, analytics — so you can run it on real visitors before you pay anything.
- Starter — $4.49/month. 150 conversations, 500 knowledge items, 2,000 synced products, and the "Powered by Vatdi" badge can be removed.
- Grow — $7.49/month. Unlimited conversations, unlimited knowledge items, 10,000 synced products, and the "Powered by Vatdi" badge can be removed.
Every plan includes training on your own products, pages and policies, 95+ languages with automatic detection, order tracking, human handover, lead capture and coupons. There is no setup fee and you can cancel from the billing page at any time.
Where Intercom is still the better choice
We would rather you pick the right tool than pick us and churn. Intercom is the right choice if you are a software company, need a help centre and product tours, run outbound email and in-app campaigns, support customers over email and social from one inbox, or have a support team large enough to need routing rules and SLAs. Its Fin agent is also very strong when your answers live in documentation rather than a product catalogue.
Vatdi is built for one job: answering shoppers on your website from your own store data, and handing them to a person when it matters. It does not do Messenger or email ticketing (WhatsApp works through your own WhatsApp Business number), and it is not a marketing automation suite. If your support runs primarily through those channels, keep the tool that owns them and use Vatdi for the website widget, or skip us.
Moving a store off Intercom
Export your help-centre articles and paste the useful ones into Vatdi's knowledge base, install the app or plugin for your platform, let the catalogue sync, and swap the widget script. Keep Intercom running for a week while you compare. Most stores are done in an afternoon.
